In September 2006 Jorgensen/Brooks Group will co-sponsor the 27th Annual EAP Conference and Training Institute “Managing the Performance, Safety and Health Risks of Employee Drug Use” which will take place on Thursday 21st September 2006 at the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin, Ireland.

The conference will feature the latest research and practices from several nations addressing employee drug use and management interventions. Programs will include: effective drug & alcohol policy, the impact of employee assistance programs, management training techniques, and critical approaches to employee drug testing.

Additional tracks will cover current topics such as childcare, eldercare, and work/life practice linkages in Europe. Organisational Support Services (OSS) development in Europe and EAP research in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States will also be addressed.

A panel of a distinguished practitioners, lecturers, and academics from Ireland, the European Union, and the US will address the conference, including Randy Brooks, MA, CEAP, a member of the board of the international Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) and Don Jorgensen, Ph.D., CEAP, J/B Group President and past-president of EAPA international.

On Friday 22nd September Dr. Jorgensen will also serve as a featured speaker at a one-day workshop “ Designing Employee Assistance Programmes: Best Practice and Future Trends” at the Stillorgan Park Hotel in Dublin. He will join other experts from Ireland and the UK to identify current key issues in EAP service and workplace health and safety. The panel will be led Maurice Quinlan, Ireland, workplace consultant and director of the EAP Institute of Waterford, Ireland.
