Don Jorgensen is an expert in the fields of workplace training, addiction and workplace behavioral health. He is president and co-owner of Jorgensen Brooks Group of Tucson, Arizona (USA), which is devoted to improving human effectiveness in the workplace. Don and his firm provide organizational development and employee assistance program services, drug-free workplace training, workplace violence prevention, strategic planning and leadership development for over 50 companies throughout the US and worldwide. Jorgensen is heavily involved in workplace health advocacy. He has twice been named Arizona EAP Professional of the Year (the award has been renamed in his honor). He is a past-president of the international Employee Assistance Professionals Association, the largest EA association in the world. He serves on the boards of the Compass Healthcare Foundation, the Tucson/Pima County Commission on Addiction Prevention and Treatment and the Metropolitan YMCA. He is a past president of Greater Tucson Leadership. Previously Dr. Jorgensen established outpatient and residential addiction treatment programs for adults and model programs for children of alcoholics in California and Arizona. Don uses humor and a straight-forward style as a keynote speaker and consultant for corporate seminars, professional conferences, and businesses in North America, Europe and Asia. He has been interviewed by TV, radio and print media in the US, Ireland and China on workplace violence prevention, drug and alcohol issues and employee interventions. He has published numerous articles in public and professional journals. His first book, Counseling Children of Alcoholics was published in 1988.
